Pre & Post Care

Beautiful results begin with the right prep.

Follow our expert care tips to protect, maintain, and enhance your treatment glow.

Pre Treatment

Consultation

A consultation is required for all new clients prior to receiving any treatments or massage services. This ensures we can tailor each experience safely and effectively to your individual needs.

Avoid Sun Exposure

Please avoid direct sun exposure and tanning beds for at least 2 weeks prior to your facial appointment. Sun exposure can increase skin sensitivity, making it more prone to irritation and reducing the effectiveness of your treatment. This precaution helps prevent post-treatment complications and ensures optimal results.

Avoid All Injectables

We recommend avoiding injectable treatments (such as Botox or dermal fillers) for at least 2 weeks before your facial. This allows time for the injectables to fully settle and minimises the risk of interference or adverse reactions during your skincare treatment.

Avoid All Forms of Hair Removal

Please refrain from all forms of hair removal, including IPL or laser treatments, waxing, threading, and depilatory creams on the area being treated for at least 2 weeks before your appointment. These methods can compromise the skin barrier and increase sensitivity during your facial.

Avoid Retinoids & Active Topical Creams

Please discontinue the use of retinoids, tretinoin, and other active topical products (such as AHAs, BHAs, and acne medications) on the treatment area for at least 5–7 days prior to your facial. These products can increase skin sensitivity, which may lead to irritation or reduced tolerance during your treatment.

Avoid Invasive Skin Treatments

To prevent irritation or overstimulation, avoid invasive facial treatments such as chemical peels, microneedling, and dermabrasion for at least 2 weeks prior to your appointment. This ensures your skin is in the best condition to receive and respond to your facial safely and effectively.

Avoid Caffeinated and Alcoholic drinks

Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water or herbal teas. It's best to avoid regular tea, coffee, alcohol, and other stimulants before your appointment. Make sure to eat a light meal at least one hour prior to your massage. Don't forget to take a shower beforehand and wear comfortable clothing for the ultimate relaxation experience.

Post Treatment

Facials

After a standard facial, allow your skin to breathe by avoiding makeup for 12 to 24 hours. Refrain from touching your face unnecessarily to prevent irritation or introducing bacteria. Use only gentle, nourishing skincare products for the first couple of days, and avoid retinoids, exfoliants, or harsh treatments for at least 3 to 5 days. Sun exposure should be minimised, and SPF should be worn daily. Staying hydrated and following your therapist’s product recommendations will help maintain your post-facial glow.

Massage

After a massage, it’s important to drink plenty of water to help flush out toxins and support your body’s natural recovery process. Try to avoid caffeine and alcohol for the rest of the day. If you feel tired or slightly sore, allow your body to rest that’s a normal response. Taking a warm shower (not hot) can further relax your muscles and enhance the benefits of your treatment. If you received a deep tissue massage, avoid heavy physical activity for the remainder of the day and engage in gentle stretching if needed.

Microdermabrasion

Your skin may feel slightly sensitive, red or flaky following microdermabrasion, which is completely normal and should resolve within 2 to 5 days. Avoid using active skincare ingredients like exfoliants, acids, or retinoids for 5 to 7 days. Keep your skin well hydrated and stick to a calming, nourishing skincare routine. Stay out of direct sunlight, and be diligent with daily SPF application to protect your freshly exfoliated skin. For at least 24 to 48 hours, avoid hot showers, steam rooms, and intense physical activity. Postpone any waxing or skin treatments for 1 to 2 weeks to allow the skin to fully recover.

Dermaplaning

After dermaplaning, your skin maybe slightly red  and feel extra smooth and sensitive. Avoid applying makeup for at least 24 hours to allow your skin to breathe and recover. Stick to a gentle cleanser and hydrating products, and avoid active ingredients such as retinoids, exfoliants, or acids for 5 to 7 days. It’s important to avoid sun exposure and use a high-SPF sunscreen daily to prevent pigmentation and irritation. Refrain from exposing your skin to steam, saunas, or excessive sweating for at least 24 to 48 hours. Any further exfoliation, including waxing or peels, should be delayed for 7 to 14 days.

Chemical Peel

Following a chemical peel, you may experience redness, dryness, and light peeling for several days—this is a normal part of the healing process. Do not pick or peel any flaking skin, as this can cause scarring or irritation. It’s best to avoid direct sun exposure for 7 days, sweating, and heat for at least 72 hours. Use a gentle cleanser and hydrating products while avoiding exfoliants, acids, and retinoids for a minimum of 1 week. Always apply SPF daily, even when indoors, and limit makeup use for the first 24 to 48 hours or as advised. You should also wait at least two weeks before receiving any other intensive skin treatments.

Microneedling

After microneedling, it’s important to avoid touching your face for the first few hours to minimise the risk of irritation or infection. Do not apply makeup for at least 48 hours, and avoid direct sun exposure for 1 week, heat, steam, and activities that cause excessive sweating for 48 to 72 hours. Stick to a gentle, hydrating skincare routine and avoid using active ingredients such as retinoids, AHAs, or BHAs for at least 5 to 7 days. Be sure to wear a broad spectrum SPF daily, as your skin will be more sensitive to sunlight. Additional treatments such as facials or peels should be postponed for at least two weeks.

Waxing

After your waxing treatment, it’s important to keep the area clean and avoid touching it unnecessarily to prevent irritation or infection. For the first 24 to 48 hours, avoid hot showers, saunas, steam rooms, swimming, intense exercise, and tight clothing that could cause friction. Do not apply perfumed lotions, deodorants (for underarm waxing), or tanning products to the area during this time. Avoid sun exposure or tanning beds, as freshly waxed skin is more sensitive and prone to pigmentation. Refrain from exfoliating the area for at least 5 days post waxing, then begin gently exfoliating regularly to help prevent ingrown hairs. If redness or sensitivity occurs, apply a soothing, fragrance free aloe-vera gel or after-wax lotion recommended by your therapist.
